I am currently an MBA candidate and a graduate assistant for the Responsible Business Initiative (RBI) at Boise State University. I graduated from the College of Idaho with an undergraduate degree in Business Administration, a concentration in Marketing, along with minors in Art and Design, Creative Writing, Visual Studies and Natural Sciences. Upon graduation I transitioned from my Creative Specialist role at PakSense to Clearwater Analytics where I worked for a year as a Graphic Designer.

I returned to school to pursue my MBA out of an intrinsic desire to make a positive impact on the world. I have grown up believing in my ability to encourage positive change in organizations and the people around me. In realizing this desire, I set out to learn what career I could form within the space of Corporate Social Responsibility. As the Graduate Assistant for RBI, I focus on the various aspects that fall within responsible business. These focus areas include diversity and inclusion, sustainability, and responsible business in regards to B Corps.

Within the realm of diversity and inclusion, I participate in both the internal and external efforts of Boise State University. Internally, I assist in crafting the internal Inclusive Excellence strategy that is focused on diversity and inclusion for our student body, faculty and staff. With this, I also work on ongoing community outreach efforts to bring diversity and inclusion practices to businesses around Idaho though events, workshops and ongoing conversations, with the primary aim to create positive change in our local community. I also help run a Student Board Fellows Program that helps place Boise State students on nonprofit boards around Idaho to increase diverse representation in this realm as well. I am passionate about diversity and inclusion and would love to have a career that continues to engage in these important conversations and initiatives.

Additionally, within the sustainability and responsible business space, I help lead the only student-driven college sustainability report in the United States. I manage a group of students to report on the social and environmental aspects of the College of Business and Economics at Boise State to encourage positive changes in our curriculum, policies, procurement and culture.

Further, within the responsible business space, I help lead a group of students that assist local businesses either certify or recertify to become B Corps. The students essentially take on a consulting role and help these businesses improve in targeted sections of the B Corp assessment.

In reflecting on my various responsibilities at RBI, I have realized that I am someone who enjoys wearing many hats. When I obtained four minors at the undergraduate level, I did so intentionally. I am a jack of all trades, master of some, and have continually worked to build my skillset in a variety of capacities. When I say I wish to make impact, I wish to do so in whatever way my continually expanding skillset with allow. There is not a singular path to which I need in order to make my positive mark on the world and I am constantly in search of the next adventure that will help me in accomplishing such an objective. The person you see in front of you today will not be the same person you see tomorrow. I continue to push myself, grow and better myself so I can then better the world around me.
